The process of calling a pastor is a special time for our church community. We, as members, (1 Peter 2:9) pray and seek God’s guidance to find the right person for the job (Acts 20:28). It’s not just about hiring someone available. Our call committee, who represents us, will suggest someone to the Director of Ministries. Then, together, we’ll pick a pastor who will lead us in fulfilling Christ’s mission for our church (Luke 19:10).

Timeline

• April 2024 - Pastor Scheich announces his retirement effective December 2025.
• May 2024 - Names were received by congregation, staff, and District for review and consideration for the 211 Yankee Hill Community Pastor role.
• June 2024 - The names received were returned to the District for formal review and request for PIFs and SETs along with notification of eligibility.
• July 2024 - Call Recommendation Committee is officially formed and holds their first meeting to review expectations of the group. Pastor Michael reviews remaining names.
• August 2024 - Call Recommendation Committee receives names to pray over and select those we will reach out to and solicit their interest in being a part of this process. Committee is encouraged to view online content as well.
• December 2024 - We are prayerfully considering two candidates.
• March 2025 - Two candidates have interviewed onsite for the 211 YH Community Pastor call process. Progress continues toward a final decision. Please keep the process, candidates, and call committee in your prayers.
